The creator behind The Last Guardian has revealed that hes keen on developing a zombie game for his next project. Fumito Ueda, who departed from his role at Sony two years ago but continues to work on a freelance basis, expressed his interest in tackling the undead genre somewhere down the line.

Fumito Ueda, director behind The Last Guardian, has recently come forward to apologize for the game's excruciatingly long delay.

Speaking to Edge, Ueda confessed that the bulk of the "creative work" was done quite a while ago; however, wrapping it up into a final product and getting it out to gamers has been the tricky part. Putting aside the short-term output, more than anything I feel terribly sorry that for various reasons I have kept my audience waiting for such a long time

The Last Guardian is a game that has been long stuck in a development hell for years. A game that was thought to be so ambitious and visionary that the small team at Japan Studio, composed of Fumito Ueda and Team ICO members, couldnt deliver it on PlayStation 3. While we havent heard much about the games eventual release and its platform, rumors are pointing to it getting shifted to PlayStation 4.
